I feel like this happens to me a lot. It’s annoying AF.
I’m a teacher. I speak clearly enough to be understood by groups of students. I don’t think it’s an issue with my speech.
I don’t know if it can be considered a power move in some contexts?
I know it’s not the most polite thing to do, but sometimes I just stay silent or even stare at the person when they do this. Then they often respond to the question/statement I just articulated, so they obviously heard me.
