I grew up in a very toxic environment, and ever since I can remember I haven’t been able to speak up properly. It’s depressing as hell. I keep to myself for the most part unless its someone I’ve known for a while. At school there is a girl I’m interested in, and I’d like to speak to her but every time I go to school my social anxiety kicks in and I avoid doing it. I don’t want to wait any longer to start improving my social life because its almost summer holidays and I want to link up with some people from school as I may never see them again. I genuinely cannot bring myself to speak to this girl, I can never find the right time to do it because I can only find her when she is surrounded by her friends, and it would be easier for me to speak to her without everyone else watching. I wanted to ask if any of you have experience with this type of problem. Is just going up to her and speaking to her despite my insane anxiety the best course of action? And will socialising become easier through doing this? Thanks in advance.
