I'm not sure if it's because I text too much and maybe it's too much, but i notice that a lot of the time I don't really get any response or the responses that I do get sound very half-hearted.

Recently I signed up for this hackathon, opting to be a solo participant because I thought I could make new friends. Groupings were only announced recently, but I am not getting many responses and no one is initiating plans. Even if I do get a response, there isn't much substance. For example, I try initiating conversations by asking questions about whether we should discuss on our team name or what they're looking out of the hackathon. However, the replies are usually to tell me to decide or not getting anything at all.

I've been stressing over this the entire day. I'm thinking either my questions are too boring or they don't really care about this as much as I do. Not very sure if it's a problem with me being too excited or coming off as too strong.

I think something similar has happened before, but I'm more worried about it now because these are strangers haha. I'm about to go to sleep, so I might only see replies in the morning.

I hear a lot online that you get better at talking to people by talking to people, but I don't know if I'm doing it right. I'm turning 18 this year if that helps and this is regarding a university hackathon.
