I’ve always tried to be friendly and get on with my work colleagues.
I found out a bunch of them went out and I wasn’t invited. It stung but it’s another reminder that it’s just a job.
I’ve gone out with some of them before, so that’s why it hurt so much. Between the lot of them not one asked me, but whatever. If people don’t like me that’s my fault.
I work with these people everyday. I need to know how to keep an emotional distance from them without being rude. If I get too friendly again it will just sting when I see they’ve gone out again and I wasn’t invited.
I know, at the end of the day it’s a job. It’s about the money. I have nothing against them, I always try to be personable but getting attached to them will just make it harder.
