I was never one of the boys. I’m quite short naturally effeminate, asexual and generally what was consider non threatening. I grew up with about 90% female friends and never got along well with other boys.
Now, the problem is that we all grew up, they got married, had kids or serious relationships. And from then on it became clear it was inappropriate for me to maintain the friendships we’d had. Husbands and boyfriends were at best uncomfortable if I was invited around to hang out and the invitations stopped happened.
Now, it seems impossible to find new friends like this. People are naturally suspicious about ulterior motives.
So, is it worth trying? Is it wrong to be a man trying to socialise with other women my age? Because I am not welcome among the boys, the lads, the blokes.
