Long time friends are as important to me than recent friends

I say this more of a I don't value long time friends as much as they'd like to. I could literally stop being friend with any of my friends even if I would have been friend with them for 15 years and I do not understand why they think I should value them more especially when they don't do much for me to still want to be friend with them. One of my friend who I'm roommate with has been my friend for like 15 years and all I want rn is to cut him from my life for ever and the only time I told him so I pretended I only said it cause I was mad but the truth is I do not care about him at all and he just acts like being friend with him for that long is a big deal when I have no idea why it would be.
