If she tells you she needs to check if she has plans after you asked her out and doesn’t tell you if she has until the day before the date?

I know that’s a no brainer but should you consider that a soft rejection? Or should you still ask her if she has plans the day before the date you told her in case she forgets?
I know you need to move on but dk if the convos were decent and irl interactions were fun and you really like the girl would you still try to reach out and ask?
I think if you ask instead of her telling you like she told you, sounds desperate and kills attraction :/.
