I mean they have both processed food, they do also have just meat and veggies
Yes, LIDL has a lot of processed food. Here in Lithuania, it’s the place to go for frozen ready-made meals.
Prices are low are due to their bargaining power as a retailer and are able to source manufacturers to sell their products directly without having to invest as much in Marketing.
I don’t think that there is more processed food compared to other supermarkets. I think that they’re cheaper for a series of things (like more efficient, there are more cheap brands, edit: with a quick search on google, it seems in particular that they have a more efficient supply chain, without [or with less] intermediaries)
No more then other Supermarkets. Lidl has alot of partnerships with the local producers in the countries they are in for fresh produce. With a few exceptions, their meat, vegies and fruits are mostly from the Said country.
Their processed stuff comes from all over europe.
But the reason they usually have power prices is due to the way they built their stores from the ground up.
Not more than any other of the big chains. In fact, it has the best supply of fresh fruit and veggies in my neighborhood (not the biggest variety but by far the freshest products).
In Serbia lidl has best food, Delhaize also has good food
But compared to real meat and home made food, its crap
