Hi Reddit,

I’m reaching out because I’m starting my first job, and it’s an elementary summer school internship. I just graduated university and, even though I know I’m capable, I’m absolutely terrified. 😰

The interview went well, and I wasn’t even nervous then, but now I don’t know what to do. How do I approach the other teachers to let them know I’m new? How do I go in and tell them that I’m supposed to be a teacher there? And how do I ask them about which class is mine or what I should be doing?

To give you some background, I’ve never worked before because my parents didn’t want me to, and I thought that was normal. Now I want to be independent, and I’m usually comfortable around people, but for some reason, this is really scary for me.

I want to ask if I’ll be given a course or if I should find one myself, but I’m worried they’ll think I’m not competent. What’s the first thing I should do when I get there, in detail?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
