Don’t shit on the floor. Learned that the hard way.
You think I’m doing the Cha Cha Slide?
Wonder WTF decade they think it is.
Question why I didn’t just RSVP “no.”
Try to kick a football and land flat on my back
I watch everyone on the dance floor do their thing because I’m not on the dance floor.
I couldn’t think of how to describe it, but the first video on YouTube when I searched had this amazing early YouTube era video. This actually is the Charlie Brown dance
https://youtu.be/m8aDILocjZI?si=FPdR-bPhbwp85fmt
just YouTube “Charlie Brown Christmas Dance “
I do the Charlie Brown.
You sort of lock your knees and rock your lower body forward and back while keeping your upper body upright. The goal is to look like a Peanuts character.
I have no idea.
Don’t sweat it, Charlie Brown is an awkward dork (I mean that in the nicest way), just do *something*, and if it looks terrible, just tell yourself you’re doing it right.
Bunch of party poopers in this thread lol. A fun little dance that gives you specific instructions is great!
But I have no idea what the Charlie Brown is in the Cha Cha Slide. I imagine it’s trying to imitate the weird little dances characters in Peanuts do, such as here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GkcXSJCQgg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GkcXSJCQgg)
But I looked up the original music video and they do the Charlie Brown at 3:40. You’re kinda hopping forward and back alternating legs.

What are you talking about? What is the cha cha slide?
Nothing, because there’s no way in hell I’m on the dance floor for that stupid song
This is the best question I’ve ever seen in this sub 🙂
Cha Cha slide?
Those choreographed dances are when I go get a refill of my drink so I don’t miss a song that I like.
I don’t know what either of those things are, so I guess I stand there and look lost.
Just wiggle.
I go find a drink.
I took my son on vacation when that song was popular. They played that thing every half hour calling people to dance at the pool.
I tune it out completely. That song is so annoying.
No idea because by that point I’m six miles away from the venue and still running.
You hop back and forth in this position 🚶🏽
Where have you all beeeeen
I do kind of a 1920s flapper dance, where my arms are plastered to my sides, my knees are together, and I alternate each leg kicking my heels up to my bum.
I think the point of the Charlie Brown dance is do a goofy, very repetitive dance with awkward motions, like an animation loop for a low quality cartoon. It’s supposed to look funny.
I avoid the wedding/event at all costs.
I stay near the food bar or refreshments wherever they may be lol
Hang your head and walk off in shame.
Continue sitting and drinking my beer, just like before that.
Jump front right foot back foot up
Jump back on your left foot front foot up
Each should be bent at the knee while hopping in time with the beat, alternating steps
Never heard of it. But the videos make square dancing look better.
Remain seated and keep drinking.
I do the Charlie Brown, because my high school gym teacher taught us how.
Honestly, It’s such a short part of the song that I basically do nothing. (It transitions to “hop it out, now” after like three beats.)
Take a sip of my old fashioned. Because I’m siting at the bar.
FYI the reason why you’re getting the answers you’re getting is because the Cha Cha Slide is a very Black American tradition. I don’t ever recall hearing the Cha Cha slide at a white event while I’ve heard it at pretty much every black event I’ve been to (along with the Electric Slide). Most white people won’t know how to do any part of the the Cha Cha slide unless they’ve been proverbially “invited to the cookout”.
