I graduated from high school two years ago. I was deeply unpopular and I barely had friends. In fact I had no friends up until my last year, but then things improved significantly and I managed to get along well with some people. Right after graduation I stopped using Instagram and I started going to university in a different city. This means I’ve spent two years without hearing from 99% of my former classmates and only having like one or two conversations with the rest of them.

A few days ago one of them suggested meeting up. I have a job right now so it seemed like it would be impossible to find time to hang out. My coworkers are planning a friendly dinner in the city I went to high school to and I could go a few hours earlier and hang out with that friend.

Unfortunately I have no idea on how to deal with this, social skills wise, or how not to make it awkward. Any help is welcome. Deep down I’m terrified something may go wrong, and I feel like I still have the mindset of the deeply unpopular girl from high school nobody wanted to associate with. The friend has always been nice to me and respected me so it’s not a problem specifically with them
