If a mobile speed van is perched 100m after a 50 sign on a dual carriage way, is it looking for people going over 50 after the sign? Or people going over 70 before the sign?

  2. I would guess over 50 after the sign because let’s be honest we all slow down after the signs unless we know there’s a camera there.

    Unless it’s an accident black spot I think that’s a cheap shot by the van however you should be doing 50 by the time you pass the sign.

  4. Impossible to say for sure (until the ticket arrives…) but generally it’d be looking for people speeding in the zone it’s in. So in your example, people doing >50 after the sign.
