Hi everyone,

I’m currently in college and some people down the hall knocked on our door to introduce themselves. I went outside and asked their names and we spoke for a minute. I could sense something forced about the interaction. I’m usually good with being the one that’s asked the questions, but there were awkward lulls that they or I could’ve filled. I told them I’d see them around but it seemed that they were expecting more of a conversation. What’s even worse is that my roommate still awkwardly answered more questions as I was walking back to the room. I just felt uncomfortable throughout the whole thing because of how unnatural everything was. I’m usually better in more social settings, i think it was just weird because of how they knocked on the door and I wasn’t used to it.

Usually I’m good with anyone else because I think I know how to ask and answer questions well, but I feel like I kinda broke down here just because I was a unprepared and flustered. I’m thinking about apologizing if I see them again. What do y’all think?
