Recently been a little self conscious on how bare bones my apartment is. I’m not really looking for a full makeover, but I would love some easy tips that would make my apartment feel a little more like a home than just a place where I sleep and store my belongings. No real budget in mind, but I’m definitely not rich. Cheap DIY stuff is also acceptable.
Most of my design choices have been just random stuff I’ve thrown together without any thought or reason. My curtains are too long and touch the floor, almost no wall decoration, and the lighting is just whatever is in the apartment already. I have some RGB light strips I’ve yet to put up, so suggestions with those would be nice.

Get a plant. Wish I had done this when I had my first place.
Plants, Maybe some stuff to hang on the walls.
If it were up to me the living room would have a recliner and a TV never saw the point in decorating
DO NOT smear feces on the wall

I like photography and I framed some of my favorite shots as poster prints.
If you have tile or hardwood/laminate floors, an area rug is a wonderful touch. I like my furniture to all be cooler/modern colors. Whites, grays, light blues. Then add color splashes in accessories and art on the walls.
Have a pee corner.
Art, clock, mirror, trailing plants, bookshelf, family photos, something that you collect on a shelf, Faberge egg, you know, the usual.
