Hey, I’m 24 M. I moved to a foreign country for education two years ago, but due to moving out to different apartments and cities constantly, I couldn’t make any long term friends. My question is, what are your strategies for making friends (preferably long-term) when you went abroad and experienced such issues?
For the context, I am not very talkative and lack some social skills. Back when I was living in my country, I had only few friends but my relationship with them was very good so we could spend time often together. In here, I do have a nice relationship with my coworkers but I don’t see them outside work and they do home office mostly. Also, I have flatmates (female, coming from the same country) but I cannot find any topic to talk about with them. Also, as they talk in their language everytime, I have a hard time joining their conversation. I want to get friends with them but don’t know what to do. Any advice for what I could do to get more friendly with them?
