So I (25f) have been going on dates with this guy (32m) for around a month and a half. Over the last month and a half we have probably been on 9 or 10 dates. Initially we texted a lot, he would make consistent plans back to back. Well this past weekend he got us a hotel room and we *did the deed* for the first time after about a month and a half. We had a great time, really just relaxed the whole time and ate food. After the hotel stay I feel like the communication fell off slightly, he isn’t texting me as consistently. He initiated most of the communication prior, so I decided I could reach out and ask him to go get food with me. We talked about what it is each of us are looking for, he said he’s wanting to work towards something serious in his dating life if it works out. My question is, is him pulling back in texting a bad thing? I really struggle with overthinking, and I know usually a change in texting habits is usually bad from experience, so should I pull back too?

I hate to come on here and ask dating questions, my overthinking mind just likes to run wild!

  1. Yes it’s tough to say. On one hand, over time there’s less to text about As you’ve gotten all the get to know me questions out of the way. But it could also be he is losing interest after getting sex from you. Give it a little more time and see if things pick up or not. Trust your instincts but dont be hasty.

Maybe he’s feeling like you’re the one who needs to step it up and intiate as much as he does.

did he mention anything about being serious with you? i think 9-10 dates is enough to know if you want to be serious with this person, and feels like he didn’t feel positively about this. He would tell you if he did.
