I’ll open this up to past and present flavours as some of the discontinued varieties were pretty great.

Edited to add – hedgehog flavour seems to be the clear winner.

  1. Lamb & Mint Seabrooks is the greatest flavour of crisps and nobody can fight me

  2. For me it’s worcestershire sauce. Probably pretty mainstream but not one of the big 3.

  3. Beef or Salt & Vinegar flavoured Potato Puffs by Burton’s from the 80s. Amazing crisps from my past. I did email Burtons a while back and asked them if they’d reintroduce them. I got a nice email back politely saying no with explanations of tooling in factories.

Apologies for the flavours not being obscure but the post immediately made me think of these crisps.

  4. Slightly off topic, but was having a nostalgic chat about crisps from our childhood this morning, Bones and Fangs came up – top flavour for salt n vinegar. I fear modern day s&v have been toned down for health & safety reasons!

  5. Idk if it’d be considered “obscure” but I go feral for crisps labelled that generic “spicy” flavour. Bikers, wotsits, Bobby’s spicy rings, those Cheetos twists. Anything.

I was also incredibly disappointed when I got to America and tried the real spicy Cheetos that are that vibrant red colour and full of military-grade chemicals as they were not that weird sweet flavour and genuinely tasted like a bonfire.

  6. Marmite crisps are delicious. Also the Bacon and Maple Syrup Kettle Chips that sadly got discontinued recently. RIP

  7. Scampi and lemon fries by Smith’s.

Used to be in pubs a lot but don’t see them much nowadays.

  8. I quite liked Builder’s Breakfast. I think Seabrook might have done curry crisps as well. I definitely remember coronation chicken and tandoori. Was there a madras too, or have I imagined that one?

  9. Paprika is pretty rare in the UK but common in Europe.
We need more Paprika crisps in the UK.

  10. I miss cream n cheesy niknaks, not seen them in ages! Think they’ve been discontinued 😕

  11. Golden wonder sausage and tomato flavour they are my absolute favourite used to love brannigans ham n pickle but can’t get them no more 😔

  12. Walkers pickled onion. I buy them by the box on Amazon as they are not to be found in the wild nor in any assortment pack.

  13. Sensations lime. Still not over them a decade later… No flavour will ever compare

  14. Seabrook – are they still going? They used to do weird flavours like Canadian Ham and Sweetcorn

  15. Scampi fries. So rare to see outside of a pub but they are the best flavour around

  16. Monster Munch did a cheese flavour, it was a blue and yellow pack. It tasted nicer than any other cheese flavour crisp, but was discontinued sometime in the 90s
