What about friends (F: 26) who want their milestones like marriages and pregnancies celebrated. I’m always attending and buying gifts but she can’t even send a congratulations text to me (F: 26) when I just got my bachelor degree. Is that a hater friend?

TL;DR: BEST friend didn’t congratulate me on my bachelor degree. She’s already seen my post on instagram

  1. This sounds harsh, but it needs to be said. You should be proud of your own achievement first and foremost and that’s what should matter to you. You cannot rely on external validation for the fruits of your own labor. Next, I get you want to be congratulated and recognized by your friends. But again why should they do that ? Why do you need the external validation so badly ? The less you care about external validation, the more you actually get it. Also, people are going to go out of their way to congratulate those who they know, respect, and have good connections with. So it begs the question, do you have good connections with those friends ? How have your recent interactions with them been ?
