What was the thing that made you believe being kind to people is unique among life goals?(serious answers only)

  1. It’s unique really because it doesn’t come naturally to a lot of people. I incorporate it into my daily life.

  2. It’s not unique. There are major religions based around it among other things. Do you mean in today’s materialistic first world society? It’s only rare as you climb up the corporate ladder.

  3. I remember I was 23 and living with my parents while having a terrible time with pain and a chronic illness that prevented me from going to school/work. I was talking to one of my buddy’s GF who I had known for a very long time and I was friends with. After she shared her despair with me, I offered my thoughts and tried to help her problem by offering possible solutions to make her feel better. Once she felt better, she turned the conversation around and asked sincerely how I felt and what I was going through with interest. I was told that I was loved and shown love at gatherings, but no one had ever asked to know how I feel. That shattered my reality, tbh I had no idea that anyone cared for what I felt. I was just wondering if anyone else had a messed up childhood and experienced support that changed their reality. My question is probably not phrased correctly, but English isn’t my first language. hope this makes sense 🙂
