I’ve never heard of this before.
What’s a UTV?
These aren’t exactly commonplace. It’s not like everyone does it on the weekend, nor is it only in America. The world’s largest was in Canada.
They’re also for charity. Some people enjoy riding or driving, and it’s for a good cause. I don’t think there’s any hype around poker runs, but I don’t get the problem with it.
Never heard of clubs or poker runs for it.
Where I live, people use these to ride around National Forest roads for recreation, camping, fishing, hunting, etc.
They’re usually for charity, and people buy motorcycles or UTVs or ATVs because they like driving them so poker runs are an excuse to do it. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen “hype” for them really. They’re advertised to some degree and people who want to participate do so and everyone else doesn’t think about it.
There just a Motorsport event some folks like.
I have rarely ever heard much hype for them. They aren’t super common even up here in Maine where a lot of people have ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, or muddin trucks.

Never heard of that in my life
I don’t know, but I imagine:
– Beer;
– ATVs;
– Friends.
Sounds good to the average redneck. Sounds good to me too.
Where did you hear there was hype around them?
I’ve never seen a UTV poker run, but there’s a Motorcycle Poker Run just about every weekend around here for one charity or another. Very popular, but I’ve never done one. I’m not super comfortable with riding in large groups.
