I’m a woman and sell my stuff that I’m not using any more via SNS.
I’ve seen seen all different kinds of ppl there. For example, many ppl committed to buy, but they ghosted. A couple of guys was sexually suspicious – one guy requested me to “wear” my dress on sale and “show” him that I could wear an underwear with it (I don’t remember the exact details, but his was weird.)
Recently, a guy named a very low price for one of my stuff. I accepted it first, but changed my mind. We negotiated but it didn’t work. However, the guy was overly upset that I changed my mind. He said that he just bought one from another seller at a far cheaper price. I said good luck. From my experience, the conversation usually ends at this point. No. He kept taking that I should learn a life lesson from failing the business with him etc. etc.. I didn’t want to deal with him, so I closed the chat with him.
A week later now, I got a weird request from a stranger asking about the item that the man tried to buy. Why I said it’s weird is that this request came through a personal chat. Ever since I started selling my stuff through that platform, for more than 5 years, no one has used a personal chat for the business. There is a separate communication optimized for the business, so there is no need to use a personal chat.
I closed the chat even without replying him. Scary, right?
